Valentine's Day Bracelet and Earrings...Floral Lampwork Lentils

These colorful lentil shaped floral lampwork beads were created by Blue Lagoon Creations. I've used them to create a 7.5 inch bracelet with matching earrings. Included in my designs are pressed glass floral beads, glass crystal beads, Bali silver and a sterling silver closure. The bracelet is $45 and the earrings are $20 for the pair.

Please turn up the heat......

Missy was trying so hard to keep warm this weekend. She's curled up into this massive white fur ball on top of my robe. You can hardly tell what the white blob is.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes.....

It's snowing in Philadelphia! The BF just sent me pictures from the same view I took pictures that are posted on my blog on January 2nd. The ground is carpeted with a white snow that looks beautiful....especially when you are sitting in sunny FL. I still wish I was there to see it with him though. :( It looks so black and white even though the photos were taken with color.

Valentine's Day Bracelet...Chocolate Cherry Cordial

I just listed this really cute bracelet on Perfect for giving or keeping for yourself for Valentine's Day. Black/White polka dot lampwork beads, pink lampwork beads, and square pink Swarovski crystals beads were all used to design this bracelet.

We are a Winner!!!!!

Well...FedEx just delivered the Canon camera that I won from the Ellen Degeneres show during Christmas. The first picture taken was of Missy (see how excited she is) so that we could send a proper thank you to the show. The 10 megapixels sure makes a difference. I can't wait to see how it photographs my jewelry for my website.

It's coming!!!!! The digital camera will arrive tomorrow....

I received an email from FedEx today letting me know that the digital camera that I had won from the 12 Day Giveaway on the Ellen Degeneres Show has been shipped. It should be arriving tomorrow. Cool! Thank you, Ellen & Canon.

This is a new bracelet that I made using the asian art of Kumihimo braiding with beads. It measures 8.25 inches long and closes using a very strong magntic clasp. I've finished the ends with some cute pink glass lampwork beads. The beads are shades of pink, grey, and black. Nice Valentine's Day gift. I'll put it on my website for you to buy.

Low key, lazy weekend.......

I confess to being a couch potato this weekend. Seems like so many friends have been sick with a cold or the flu lately. Makes you want to stay home so that you don't catch something.
I am planning on venturing out with my friend, Anne, to have an early dinner at The Cheesecake Factory at International Plaza here in Tampa. It's been ages since I went there to dine and they have such a variety on their menu. I guess this means I will actually have to get out of my pajamas this's worth it!
I must be on a winning streak here lately. I found out Friday that I had won a $15 ITune card because I responded to a contest with Atlanta's Americasmart.
I'm still waiting to see the Canon PowerShot A1000 camera that I was told that I had won from the Ellen Degeneres show's 12 Days of Giveaways during Christmas.
( name is on the roster of winners on Day 3 but I still haven't heard anymore news since they called to say I was a "winner". Patience is a virtue...right???

Green Dragon Kumihimo Bracelet

The is one of my latest creations using the Asian art of kumihimo braiding. This link will take you to a web page that shows the process of braiding the various strands of beads to form the bracelet. Because of the colors it reminds me of a green dragons scale. The ends are finished with emerald green lampwork beads and pewter cones. It was fun to make.

It was a nice change of weather spending Christmas in Philadelphia with the BF. Even though we didn't get snow I did experience some cold weather. We took some day trips this visit, made the tour of downtown Philly, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Reading Terminal Market, Longwood Gardens, Market Street, and Penn's Landing.

Longwood Gardens Christmas.....

My dear, sweet BF took the trip again down to Kennett Square, PA where we saw the Christmas display this time at Longwood Gardens. See my October blog for the Fall display. We had more time to see the whole garden this trip so I was able to take some interesting photos in the Children's Garden. It's a beautiful place to visit if you ever have the opportunity.
We, again, stopped at cozy Hank's Place in Chadds Ford for dinner after our visit to Longwood Gardens. It was just as good on our second visit.

Western View.......

I took the top photo from the BF's apartment balcony on Saturday afternoon (4:10 pm), Dec. 27, and the bottom photo was taken at sunset (6:12pm) on Monday, Dec. 29th. Both photos were taken of the same western view between the buildings.

Dinner at Mio Pomodoro.....

Saturday after I arrived in Philadelphia the BF and I finally stopped at the lovely little restaurant Mio Pomodoro. I'd always been curious about it when I would drop him off at the Jenkinstown train station each morning when I visited in October. It's a charming place to stop for lunch, dinner, or just drinks after work.

Took a train ride.....

While in Philly I took my first train ride on SEPTA with the BF from the suburbs into the Central City part of Philadelphia. It was cool and easy to do. We ventured down to the Reading Terminal Market.
"Reading Terminal Market opened its doors in 1892. Today, Reading Terminal Market is once again the gastronomic bazaar that its original planners had envisioned. Many of the historic Market stands survived the reconstruction and are once again filled with local produce, fresh eggs, milk, meats, poultry, seafood, handmade crafts, jewelry, and clothing. The Market is home to more than 80 merchants, two of whom are descendants of the original standholders from a century before. On any given day one can find an eclectic array of fresh baked Amish goods, produce direct from the field, unusual spices, free range meats and poultry, flowers, ethnic foods, and much more. "
We ate some lunch, the BF had some ice cream, and we bought some fresh produce. Afterwards we walked over to the Holiday Light Show at Macy's Center City, housed in the historic Wanamaker Building, to watch snowflakes, ballerinas and reindeer float beyond the four-story-high velvet curtain of the Grand Court atrium. During the light show, more than 100,000 bright, energy-efficient LED lights combine to create fantastic holiday images. The lighting display is accompanied by festive music from the world-renowned Wanamaker Grand Organ. It was beautiful.
