The Big Finale

Like they say "All Good Things Come To An End"! It's been a year now since my fun friend, Genie, from "Buttons for Baga" challenged me to a Mary Engelbreit "dual" of sorts. Who has the most Mary Engelbreit "stuff" was what we have been sharing for this past year. It's been so much fun. I've made so many friends who enjoy Mary's work as much as Genie and I do. We've shared the latest products that Mary's come out with and we've all shown our creativity through the use of her work to decorate our homes and more.  I'm proud to say that my little ole blog has even made it to the list of Mary's favorite blogs on her website. That's been a major honor in this big blogosphere world.
While this won't be my last ever post of things inspired by Mary's delightful illustration and work it will be the last of ME Monday for ME.
As some of you know I have gone back to the corporate world which leaves me little time to spend being creative. No longer do I get to spend my afternoons keeping up with what's going on in all of my blogger friends world. I miss everyone dearly but unless I win the lotto one day soon I am going to have to go out there and get paid for an honest days work.  I'm enjoying my new career but it leaves me tired at the end of the day and the last thing I feel like doing is hopping on a computer at home.  Perhaps, with time I will learn that work/life balance thing. This is not goodbye but more like I'm taking a break for awhile. Just a few last little things to share with everyone.
I was recently checking out Mary's website shop and came across this most darling little Boyd's Bear that will be available at the end of July.  It's the "Cherry Engelbreit" bear! How cute is that?

Mary, also, has this new "Cherry Square" indoor/outdoor accent rug that I love!  It's available now on her website store along with some other cute designs.

Welcome again to Mary Engelbreit Monday. Please join us and post the link to your blog with the related Mary Engelbreit pictures to share with everyone. It can be a ME licensed product or something that was "inspired" by Mary Engelbreit's artwork. It "should" be a photo that you took of something that you own. I'm, also, joining up with Sue for Rednesday this week over at It's a Very Cherry World. It's been awhile since I've joined up with all the bloggers sharing there Red for Wednesday. Please stop by and check out their links here.

Here's the last little bit of my purchases a few weeks ago from Michaels. A little miniture watering can that I think will be cute with a few blooms in it for my office desk. Plus, a charming little pail that I filled with cherries that now sits in my kitchen.

I don't know what happened last week but for some reason my "auto post" didn't happen. I've been so crazy, busy with work I didn't even look at my blog this past week to see that it had not posted. I'm so sorry to everyone who might have come looking to link up last week.

This is one of my favorite Mary Engelbreit quotes.
Today I'm sharing a few more of the ME garden items that I picked up at Michaels. I haven't, yet, decided where I'm going to hang this cute sign but I was thinking maybe on my front door.

My new cute little flower pot hook.

Better late than never I like to say. I was so tired last night when I got home from my Mother's Day dinner I just didn't have the energy to put my post up.  I hope everyone had as wonderful a day as I did on Sunday. I bought these ever so fragrant hyacinths for my sweet neighbor Paddy. I stuck the cute little ME plant stake in with them for that extra touch.  She loved them.

I stopped into Michaels Craft last week after resisting for the last couple of months. They have a whole new "stash" of Mary Engelbreit garden products. I found the cute little sign below that, also, found it's new home at my friend Paddy's house. All the designs were 40% off last week but unfortunately I didn't have ME Monday until today. No doubt they'll go on sale again.
Paddy loved this too...it's so perfect for her.

It's been a lovely Spring weekend here in Florida. That perfect kind of weather where you can take a relaxing trip to the beach with your friend. That's what I did this past Saturday morning. We headed out about 9 am to Indian Shores beach, arrived by 10 am and found our perfect spot on the white sand. It's my first bit of sun for the year so I was lathered from head to toe in spf 30 lotion. The breeze off the gulf was soothingly cool that morning. Just a few other beach goers when we first arrived. By the time we left around 3 pm the beach was awash with sun worshipers.
My friend brought the turkey sandwiches for lunch and I brought the chocolate dipped strawberries. Both totally hit the spot at noon.
We both still had room for a Dairy Queen Blizzard on the long ride home. It's good to have friends who don't count the calories on the weekend!
For Mary Engelbreit Monday this week I am sharing the month of May from my ME wall calendar. Additionally, here's a pastel ME picture frame and tea cup candle that both sit on my coffee table in my living room.

In my office/studio I have this old Mary Engelbreit magnet display board that I use on the back of a closet door.  If I recall correctly it was given to me by one of my customers who had a retail store at the time. I've always enjoyed it for hanging varies mementos from it as you can see. The chair of bowlies is one that I needlepointed on plastic canvas to make it into a magnet.

Well let me just say we almost had a crisis here in Cherry World today! My trusty Canon PowerShot A1000IS has been giving me some trouble here lately. For the last couple of weeks I had to press the display button on and off to be able to see a photo in the screen. Well....today when I went to take the picture for ME Monday even that little trick wouldn't work. Ugh! No digital camera! Say it ain't so! A frantic look for the manual offered no help. A quick jump online for support gave me no clues. I do have an email sent off to yonder land hoping that the big digital camera goddess in the sky will say "just push this button you silly girl" and all will be well again in Cherry World. But for now it ain't working.  The ole A1000 has been a trusty girl since I won her in a contest from the Ellen DeGeneres show one Christmas. I've had her since she arrived here January of 2009.
When the A1000 arrived she replaced the A560 PowerShot that had been working just fine. Obviously, being the A1000 she had more zoom and optical so the ole A560 went into the closet. Lucky for me I am a pack rat. When the camera wouldn't work this afternoon I went in search of the old camera. I found the really old A75 thinking that was the answer but it's been here even before the A560. It had a compact flash card and the display was whacky. I thought "This can't be right"??? Then I remembered recently moving the old camera bag to the closet, a quick dash back in there and I had my reliable old A560 again.  I put the batteries in her and she fired right up! She will have to do until I can figure out if it's worth fixing the "newest" version. I'm sure by now they are up to Canon A6000 models!

This week I'm sharing some things that are ME Inspired. I made these little beaded purses years ago out of some little silky drawstrings bags that a friend gave me. She had them from back in the day when she was a sales rep for Leggs hoisery. I guess at one time they had a giveaway with the little bags if I recall correctly. Anywho, she gave me a handful of the bags that I have made into various little decorated bags.
The top picture is my attempt at Flowers with little beaded cherries on the black/white fringe. The second bag is obviously my attempt at cherries. Lots of work but I think they turned out kinda cute.

I thought I would share a little Spring and Easter with everyone this week. I honestly don't recall when I got this Spring Mary Englebreit tin but I do think it's charming.
Here's a few Chinese Take Out paper containers for Easter that I recently found at Michaels. I think they'll be really cute filled with green paper "grass" and treats.
I've had this cute little Easter tin for years and I still think it's one of my favorites.
Last, but not least, I have this darling little Easter bunny pail to share with everyone.  It's on my desk in my office right now filled with pastel wrapped Hershey kisses.

I took down my Mary Engelbreit "Love" flag this morning that I had put up in February. This will be my spring flag since I've never bought an Easter ME flag.  Do you see the little "Home is where the heart is" sign? I painted that a million years ago. We're expecting a high temperature today of 85 degrees. So much for Spring!
Do you remember a few months ago when I bought this lampshade to cover with fabric? I needed a shade for the Mary Englebreit lampbase that I got for a song at Dishtophia. Well, I finally got around to covering the shade this weekend and here's a picture of the whole lamp put together.

This week I'm sharing this "Too Cute" little fabric Mary Engelbreit box that my good friend, Kathy, gave to me a few years ago. She bought the glasses cherries for me when she was in Italy and needed something to present them to me in. I think she picked the perfect container for them. The box and cherries usually sit on the coffee table in my living room.

It's been an exciting day here at the Cherry Chick house. My new stove arrived! Do you see the ME teapot on it?  Then there's the salt & pepper shaker and the utensil container that I put a ME Wallie on to spruce up. I soooo...needed this stove. My old stove was over 26 yrs old and only had one burner on the stove top that still worked. My sweet friend Kathy and equally sweet husband Larry brought this stove to me today. They just moved into a new house and brought their stove from their old house to the new house. That meant that there was this almost like new cook top stove that needed a new home. I am the grateful recipient of that 'homeless' stove. I have such wonderful friends who are all so generous. Now all I have to do is bake some White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies for Kathy and Larry. Piece of Cake and such a deal! Right?

I'm sorry if the pictures aren't showing up. Click on the little box and you'll see the pictures. I've spent forever tonight trying to figure out the issue with Blogger without success.

It's true......I was "missing" last week for ME Monday. Life and priorities got in my way. I had so much that I was trying to get done last Sunday and then I had to work on getting documents together for corporate taxes...ugh! I will be working on them again this Sunday so I'm putting together my Monday post here on Saturday. Thank you so much to the sweet friends who emailed to inquire if I was okay. I am and we're back in business here!
Last Saturday I was in Clearwater and I stopped into a Michaels that I don't often get to. I must say that I was happy that I had popped in. On my way out of the store I checked over by the gift wrap where I found this most wonderful tissue that I had been passing on because it was $1.99 for only 4 sheets of tissue. With only two of the sheets being Cherries I just couldn't bring myself to pay that for tissue paper. Well!!! I am happy to say that I got the 5 packages above for 79 cents a package. Yepper...patience is a virtue.
Then there were these cute little gift card tins marked down to 49 cents each.
The large Cherry tote was a mere 99 cents and there was rolls of Mary Engelbreit giftwrap regularly $3.99 a roll now available for $1.99. I was good and only bought one roll.

I met a client this week to help her with creating a blog for her real estate business. We met at my favorite little tea spot, Dishtophia, where they are slowing selling out of some of their dishes and Mary Engelbreit collectibles. I had gotten a newsletter from them stating that things were marked down 80% now if you mentioned the newsletter.
Final cost $1.90 including tax ;-)

Imagine my surprise on Saturday when I realized that "Mary" had stopped by my blog to comment on the Cherry Birthday balloon that I shared on Sue's Rednesday last week. Not that Sue's equally sweet comment didn't make me just as Happy.

It's been a busy weekend with the Birthday Celebration continuing all weekend long. I actually received a few Mary Engelbreit gifts from my dear friend Christina that I'm sharing this week.
A rubber stamp that says it all!

Audrey, one of my customers, peeps, and new friends reminded me this weekend about this wonderful poem from Mary's book The Blessings of Friendship.  If you follow my blog you've often heard me speak of my sweet neighbor Paddy.  This so describes how I feel about our friendship and I wanted to share it today with everyone. I hope each of you has a neighbor who you can share this with.

Sorry about the glare :-(

Did you see the Mary Engelbreit Giveaway that Geralyn from Greeting from Geralyn linked to ME Monday last week? You have until March 7 to pop over to her blog to enter  her generous giveaway celebrating her 300th Blog post.
