It is such a beautiful morning here in Tampa today. I'm sitting on my front porch enjoying a cup of tea while listening to the birds sing. Life is Good! We had a mini "cold front" come through after a little rain on Thursday and the temperature is just perfect outside. There is just the nicest breeze out to make it all that much better.
A few weeks ago I pulled out the ole Cricut Expressions to try my hand at a card that I have seen pinned on Pinterest. There is a wonderful video tutorial here if you are interested in seeing exactly how the original was created. You can see that I made it my own using totally different paper and accents.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I Baked a Cake
Sunday was my friend Anne's Birthday. I was a little late but I whipped up this cake for her on Monday and took it over to her when she got home from work. Just a box mix with some Nutella, my favorite, in between the layers. She said that she loved it and that it was really moist. It's only about 6 inches wide and a little taller than that. I put little mini chocolate chips on the top of the cake.
I, also, gave her my favorite candle from Anthropologie. She loves the Aloha Orchid fragrance as much as I do. It has a really sweet smell if you like that kind of fragrance.

Bad News...Good News
Ugh! I've been Laid Off....
Bad News...yepper...I just found out Tuesday...sigh..
Right now I'm looking at the positive side of things.
A) I wasn't asked to clean out my desk
B) Hopefully, I'll be back in 30-60 days
3) I now have time to blog!!
I had just come back from a mini vacation of 5 days off to celebrate the "Birthday Week".
It was an awesome week of celebration, time spent with wonderful friends, and very special gifts. The thing I like most about my birthday week is that I get to spend one on one time with my wonderful friends/sisters. We checked out a new tea room, lunched, went to the movie, people watched at the mall, had a massage and spent time catching up on each others lives.
I was feeling pretty special and luckily had no clue as to what would happen next.
Remember that saying "When one door closes another door opens". While the door may not have closed, more like I just got locked out, it has come at just the precise moment. Right now there is a wonderful new "top secret" project that I now have the time to work on with my wildly talented friend Heather at Dragonfly Lampworks. I'll let you know when the big reveal happens...wink...wink. ;-p

Hearts have arrived
As I promised last weekend, here's what I created to put in my office for Valentine's Day. The little display above sits on a round work table in the middle of the office.
This is the whiteboard that is behind my desk.

Shopping for VD
My goodness! What were you expecting?
I ran some errands today making my way through Michaels Crafts and a quick trip to Wal-mart. I know...I hate going in there (Wal-mart) but I needed some Valentine's Day candy for the office. I found these delicous little candies while there. They're over in the Valentine's candy display. These little "fruit chews" (think Jelly Bellys) are "made with real cherry juice" and are "high in antioxidant vitamin C" which I'm sure makes them "healthy". Right? There are nine flavors in the 10 oz. bag including Cherry Vanilla, Kiwi Cherry, Cherry Daiquiri, Cherry Cheesecake, Cherry Cola, and Chocolate Cherry. Also, they're Made in USA with an affordable $2.25 price for the bag.

Michaels had 40% some of their Valentine's Day decorations plus there's a 25% everything coupon for Sunday. I picked up a few things to decorate the office with. I'm enjoying having an office to decorate for the seasons. I decided a week ago to create my first bunting/banner/garland or whatever they call them. I covered some cardboard hearts with scrapbook paper and my plan was to spell out "Employee Relations" but then I realized I didn't have any letters to spell it out.
I did some research and found a Cricut machine for $149 that I thought was reasonable. It's a cool little machine and it was pretty easy to figure out. Now I have my letters and more! I know it's kind of a tease since I'll wait until I get it hung up in the office this week and take a photograph of it. I think it turned out cute.
Here's a wreath I bought at Michaels that I'm going to embellish. This is my "before" shot with the "after" to follow later. Have a fabulous week!
